About Our Community
|
 |
| Our community is served by four
four-lane divided highways. K-10 Highway borders Eudora on the south and two
interstate highways, 1-70 and 1-35, are respectively located within ten and
twenty miles, while US-59 is ten miles west. The public airport at Lawrence is
located just minutes away. The cultural advantages presented by the University
of Kansas at Lawrence, six miles to the west, cannot be overlooked or
overstated. The metropolitan area of Kansas City, only 20 minutes east via
K-10, offers quick access to Kansas City International Airport, as well as the
excitement of major league sports with Chiefs football, Royals baseball, Attack
soccer, and Blades hockey teams. Topeka, the State Capitol of Kansas, is only
40 miles west of Eudora. |
 |
A trip in any
direction from Eudora will convince you that the surrounding countryside is
truly beautiful. Should you drive about five miles southwest, you will discover
the Lickteig Farm located at the intersection of Douglas County Roads 1057 and
458, where cattle and a herd of Llamas graze peacefully together amid working
oil wells as "Clyde the Camel" watches. The farm also features Emus,
swans, peacocks, donkeys, wild sheep, and many exotic varieties of pheasants
and ducks. With typical Kansas friendliness, the sign at their gate invites you
to stop:
Visitors Welcome.

 |
| Eudora has a
welcome sign out for you, too! Please come to visit. Stroll our safe streets,
shop our stores (such as Quilting Bits & Pieces), talk to our friendly people, lunch in one of our parks. We're sure you'll want to stay! |
